Area Rug Cleaning
We clean many types of area rugs including needlepoint (embroidered) rugs, rag rugs, braided rugs, hooked rugs, machine-loomed rugs, flat weaves, flokatis and silk rugs. Our standard method of cleaning usually includes washing the rug in cold water. This video reviews the difference between carpet cleaning and rug cleaning.
However, each rug type has unique structural characteristic and cleaning considerations so we alter procedures depending on the needs of the rug. For example, an Aubusson style needlepoint rug, a Greek Flokati and a hand hooked rug made in 19th century New England require different cleaning procedures to deliver a rug that is thoroughly clean.
Click the photos below to learn more about the cleaning considerations associated with these rugs. If you’re considering having your area rug cleaned, feel free to call us with your questions, contact us by email, or stop in at the cleaning plant.
